Chair Massage
This massage is most common in the workplace and focuses on the back, neck and shoulders and also can address the arms and hands. Sessions are generally 10-20 minutes, but can be as short as 5 minutes and as long as 30 minutes. Clients remain fully clothed, and no oils or lotions are used. It can easily be customized to any location, office, clinic or event.
Therapeutic Table Massage
This massage can be customized to meet the needs of the individual client and generally uses oil. Techniques may include long gliding strokes, kneading, friction and compression strokes to alleviate sore tired muscles. Benefits include decrease in stress hormones, increased blood circulation, increased lymph circulation which stimulates immune function, detoxification of metabolic wastes and restores the body’s feeling of overall well-being. Specific techniques including myfascial, neuromuscular and trigger point therapy can also be applied in this session.
Thai Massage
Thai Massage uses a variety of rhythmic compressions, finger pressure and stretches. It has been called “Lazy Man’s Yoga” because the practitioner puts the client’s body into numerous stretching positions. Traditional Thai Massage is an ancient practice derived from a blend of Ayurvedic concepts, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and other Asian Healing Arts. This bodywork is based on the principles of “Sen Sib” lines which are energy pathways originating from the body’s center. Thai massage restores flow to the “wind” or energy, which flows through the sen sib. The client lies on a mat on the floor and remains fully clothed. Thai massage restores the body’s energy systems, increases flexibility and alleviates pain.
